These easy, melt-in-your-mouth cookies will make any afternoon tea a little more delicious!
Preheat oven to 180deg and line a couple of baking trays with baking paper.
Using an electric beater, beat the butter and sugar until light and creamy.
Add the egg and vanilla. Re-beat.
Stir in the flour until combined.
Stir in the dates.
Using lightly floured hands, roll small balls (1-2tsp) and place on your tray.
Bake for 15mins - and not much longer! Set aside to cool and taste test as soon as you can!
